13 grants worth altogether 709,352 EUR were approved by the Foundation Board at their June meeting. The Board was very pleased to see several projects make active use of Grundfos’ volunteering policy, allowing employees up to three days’ paid leave for volunteering within projects related to Water, Climate, or People.
“Looking ahead, volunteering activities from employees will be a prerequisite for obtaining funding for Community Engagement Grants. I therefore encourage all companies in the Grundfos Group to explore how Foundation funding and volunteering from employees go hand in hand,” says Kim Nøhr Skibsted, Executive Director.
The list of new project grants is available at the bottom of the page.
Volunteering in new projects
In Germany, local Grundfos employees partner with the non-profit organisation Hanse Obst e.V. Lübeck on a “Plant-for-the-Planet” academy for children of the Poul-Due-Jensen School in Wahlstedt. The project supports Grundfos’ global sustainability goals for climate protection, biological diversity, circular economy, health, social engagement, education and personal development:
“We need administrative help in running the data from our small-scale filtration systems in Haiti and would appreciate one-on-one virtual mentoring from Grundfos employees who have knowledge about the pumps we will be using,” explains Carlee Greene Adams, President of Poured Out Inc.
