‌Do you want to drive change? Then it’s time we talk about water. Journalists and communicators, join a series of free online workshops to boost your water knowledge and make your message go the extra mile.

SIWI’s online Water in Communications programme seeks to improve knowledge about water and the skills needed to communicate effectively about water.

The programme provides inspirational keynote presentations, discussions and practical insights to give you the knowledge and skills you need to broaden your reach and empower people to make better decisions about water.

Registration for the workshop series is free and open until 31 May.

  • For the first time, all sessions will be simultaneously translated into Spanish.
  • We’ll be holding several practical sessions, including media training.

Practicalities

The full training is composed of 7 workshops:

Each workshop will start at 2pm CEST (Stockholm time). To enable participants from all over the world to join, the online workshops are recorded to allow all registrants to view the workshops at a later date.

“SIWI launched the Water in Communications programme in 2021 for journalists and communicators to improve the accuracy, intensity, and quality of reporting and storytelling on water, thereby broadening awareness about water issues and climate change.“

The programme is an integral part of SIWI’s annual World Water Week. This year’s  World Water Week will be held online and in Stockholm, 25-29 August 2024 and will be based on the theme of Bridging Borders: Water for a Peaceful and Sustainable Future.
