Below, you can learn more about the winners and the winning projects:

Grundfos Community Engagement Award |  Grundfos China

The award showcases the best local community and charity initiatives across the Grundfos Group and acknowledged the good will and dedication of the employees. The prize of 20,000 EUR is transferred as a donation to a partner organization (NGO) outside Grundfos

The initiative provides underprivileged students in remote areas with better opportunities for education and exposure to the outside world. By establishing two green IT classrooms, leveraging recycled laptops from Grundfos, the initiative continues to improve the lives of 1,500 students in underdeveloped regions.

The project bridges education and sustainability in recycling used laptops to establish IT classrooms in rural areas in China. Grundfos China, Beyond the City, and Netspring together developed the initiative called “Urban career journey”.

Furthermore, the project sponsored a career-focused, week-long student tour to Shanghai for 40 of these students.

Environmental Impact Award | From Challenge to Solution: How N1 Overcame Outdated Water Treatment Processes and Increased Sustainability

The project is a first-class example of how our constant focus on continuous improvement has led to significant savings and improvement of the working environment in the N1 Factory, resulting in water savings of 1,650 m3 water over the first 5 months of operation, with potential water savings for the entire year of over 4,000 m3.  The system is fully digital and allows for precise flow control and optimization of the main pumps.

Throughout the process, the team has collaborated with and benefitted from support from Eurowater. The initiative has global potential and can easily be implemented in all Grundfos production facilities to minimize our own internal water usage.

Last, but not least, the system eliminates the manual handling of 2,600 sacks of salt of 10 kg each, through use of tank truck deliveryand contributes to significant salt reduction, saving over 14 tons of salt annually.
